Ride Height Adjustment Explained

Currently are are two type of setup in modern cars, unlike order early 2000s. The following diagram shows you how to tell the difference between the two. Type of Coilover Suspension




Coilover Anatomy  In order to give a quick tutorial on how to adjust ride height on the Godspeed coilovers, These two diagrams helps identify most of part on traditional coilover aseembly.  Your coilover may not look exactly the same but it should have similar parts on them. 




Traditional Coilovers:

To properly adjust ride height with this type of coilover assembly, is perform through move the lower perch up or down.  Do NOT attemp to adjust ride height through the spring. If you over compressed the spring, you will end up with stiffer and rough ride because of the spring tension is too tight.




Independent Setup:

Unlike traditional coilovers, you adjust ride height through the spring perch and set spring tension by adjusting lower perch on the shock.
